Battle for India: Who should you vote for and why?

Ideally, we must vote for the best amongst the available candidates in our respective constituencies, irrespective of the party. The candidate must be reasonably educated, free from corruption and not have any criminal background.

From a national perspective, the current Government must be ousted. In an imperfect democracy like ours, no party should be given a free ride for 10 years. Best example is Lalu Yadav, who misruled Bihar for a decade and after losing the elections has become one of the best performing ministers. So, UPA must be voted out in 2009 and brought back in 2014. Since there is no provision under our laws to recall candidates, this pattern of voting out the incumbent can act as a checks-and-balance. TN, Kerala and Karnataka do this everytime and their rankings in human development indices are always higher than the other states.
A large voter turnout in this elections will indicate this very pattern of voting out the incumbent. So vote my for the NDA/ Third Front.
